Shades of Dawn Necklace - Tutorial

Image
Shades of Dawn Necklace : I have seen necklaces like this a bit lately and I just thought they were beautiful! I especially love the pearls with satin...so classy and really can dress anything up. So, I had to try it out for myself and have decided to call them the "Shades of Dawn" Necklace line as I will be carrying them in my shop. I just loved this saphire shade of blue...and the silver toned pearls looked gorgeous with it. So here is my version of these necklaces I've seen around lately... Shades of Dawn in Saphire Blue The most difficult thing was making the rosette out of satin!! I'm thinking I might have to do a seperate tutorial on that simply because I had to figure it out...I personally do NOT like the frayed look when it comes to satin, so I was hooked on trying to figure out how to keep those frayed edges hidden. AND I FIGURED IT OUT! I mean, look at that rosette...zero frayed edges :) I likey! Ahhh...man...I love

Tomorrow it will be in the 50's here in the Great White North! Let the snow melt begin, please! My all time FAVORITE chili recipe is Uptown Down-Home Chili by Rachael Ray. It is SO good. But...I don't always have the TWENTY-ONE ingredients on hand to make it happen. Yes, that's right, twenty-one!!! But it's worth the trip to the grocery store if you're willing put forth the effort. Over the years, I've developed my own chili recipe. It doesn't require an actual traffic light as the recipe name implies, rather I always buy those stoplight packs of bell peppers in the grocery store. You know...the ones with one red, yellow, and green bell peppers. As a result, this chili is jam packed with veggies for your family. You will need: 1 package of stoplight peppers - or on

Flowers for Mom

Image
Flowers for Mom : I found this little watering can at Target in an after Christmas sale! It was intended to be an ornament, but I couldn't resist adding in some flowers :) For the flowers, I used a punch from McGill? to punch two large flowers shapes for each flower and then punched a large circle and cut a spiral to twist in the center. I attached each flower with Hot Glue to a floral wire then placed a piece of Styrofoam at the bottom of the watering can and poked the floral wire through. I used Momenta's Design Your Own Stickers and used a textured pink that would match the pattern paper and embellishments! I love the Design Your Own Stickers so much :) Supplies : Pattern Paper: Chloe's Garden, Momenta Stickers: Design Your Own, Momenta Sticker Pack: Chloe's Garden, Momenta Baker's Twine: Blossom, The Twinery Punches: Extra Large Squeeze Circle, Fiskars and Floriano Paper Blossoms, McGill Include Site Name And Link Back To Thi

Flowers From Vintage Jello Molds

Flowers From Vintage Jello Molds : Completely inspired by these , I set out to make my own. I gathered together some of my vintage jello molds. Next, I went to town cutting, drilling, and piecing together the molds to form flowers. I used some aluminum cookie molds, and a few lamp parts too. After spray painting the flowers, stems, and leaves, I stapled them to my new picket fence section. So fun to make, I love the whimsy charm they add to my picket fence!
