If you look very closely you will see a line of stitches that adds texture to the blanket.
Plan ahead the distance between each line.  Then you can determine how far apart to make your bright pink lines.  Attach to the beginning under two threads, chain 4 then attach to the next two threads.  Do this all the way across the length of the lap blanket.  Cut your thread and close the stitch leave a string to weave in. Go back to the beginning and attach again. Spacing as you have planned to keep the rows evenly apart.  I made seven rows.

3rd Update

Finished - Yay!

Make all your flowers.  Spread your blanket across your table or the floor.
Put your flowers in the order you want them.  Sew each one on and put a little bit of glue onto the center of each flower. Let it dry.  Weave in all your strings.  Weave it in by making two or three turns.  it makes it harder to come loose.

You can arrange
your flowers like mine or
you can arrange them differently.

I made the flowers on this.

I Made This For My Daughter

I made this blanket in 2017.
It was a Christmas present for my daughter.
I put short faux fur on the back.  It was heavy and comfy.

I Finished This Afghan Tonight

 I Finished This Afghan Tonight
Intermediate Level
This one took longer to make than my prior projects.
I had a migraine today, it took up my whole day until tonight.
In spite of it, I was able to get up and finish my afghan.
I'm very happy with how it looks.  It's pretty big.
I can go on to my next project now.  Christmas will soon be here.
I'm not sure what I'm going to do with this one yet.
I'll let you know what I decide.

I Have All The Pieces Sewn Together - Almost Done

I Have All The Pieces Sewn Together

I'm so happy I'm nearing the finish line on this afghan.
I had to sew together each piece.  Now I have to hide all the strings.
This may take a couple of days.  This afghan has taken me the longest time to make.
It is 54" wide and 63" long.  42 octagons 6X7
I'm happy with how it looks.

Funny thing when I was making it I counted it over and over to see how far along I was.
I made 42 octagons.  I counted it several times.  I even had an extra one I did not complete because I had enough.  When I put it together I was missing one.  I don't know where it went.  I was happy though because I found the one I didn't finish and finished it.   I didn't come up short after all.

It's not laying all out flat in this picture.  It's pretty big.

I'll show you the whole afghan once it is fully completed.  Almost done with this one. Yay!

Completed This Project Today

We sent this afghan/blanket out this past week. This afghan went to my mother, who requested one. I already started a new one, Hopefully, I will complete it before the end of next month. We've had some donations of afghans and blankets.
Thank-you. They have been laundered and sanitized.
I Finished This Project Today! I had to buy purple buttons to complete this project. Several other pictures are on my blog.
There are better pictures of it on my blog. Check them out.

White Scattered Hearts Appliques Sewn On

If you are making the loop fringe don't forget to
leave at least  4-5 inch stings to weave in
so that your fringe does not unravel.
