Valentine Blanket - Did I Meet My Goal For Today?

Image
Did I Meet My Goal For Today? Well, I didn't meet the goal of having this Valentine Afghan finished today. I will have it done "Lord Willing" this coming Monday. I've been working on this Afghan since February 1st, 2020. I put a big pink button on 6 hearts. I was able to sew on 2 of the hearts. My plans changed for today but I will continue to post on this page as I complete this project. Multi-Purpose Valentines Blanket or Breast Cancer Awareness I finished sewing on the hearts This morning. With a size P needle, I chained 26 and tied a bow around the buttons. I'm doing all 6 that way. It is cushy, comfy, happy and heavy. Please look at the past three posts. To see about this afghan. How To Make The Fringe Be sure to count the number of loops on the first side and have them equal the number of loops you put on the other side.  Make sure your loops equal out on both sides of each side. Evenly Spread Across 4 - corners are bright pink - 15 loops each - two loops are tied in the front to form a bow. 2 small rows edges are light pink - 30 loops each. 2 small rows edges are white - 60 loops in each 2 large white edges - 90 loops each 1 large middle section of bright pink - 90 loops On Both Sides P/16 Crochet Hook In the picture above is the edge of my blanket. If the edge is white the fringe is to be white. If the edge is pink then the fringe is to be pink. Along the edge, there are holes sometimes they  are bigger and sometimes they are smaller. Every hole on the edge will be filled with loops.  Sometimes only two loops fit  and sometimes five.  Fit in as many as you can. But do it evenly across.  Add another row if necess

Working On A Valentine Heart Afghan -

The Heart Applique I looked and looked for just the right crochet heart and could not find a pattern I was happy with for this project.  I decided to make my own pattern. So I'm going to give it a whirl here and try to explain to you how to make it. Pink yarn #4 weight worsted yarn.  Use two threads at a time.  I used both side ends of one skein.  The side thread and the thread that comes out of the end.  My crochet needle is size L MR- Magic Ring SS - Slip Stitch SC - Single Crochet Ch - Chain SLST - Slip Stitch Start with a Magic Ring. Single crochet 10 around the MR  SS closed in the beginning ( top two threads) Chain 3 SC at the bottom of the Ch 3 at the two open threads. (Ch 1 then Sc under the 4 thread hole.) Do this three more times but in the  3rd one chain not 1 time but 2 chs Sc again in same place.  This is making the point at the bottom of the heart. To clarify again what should be in  the point.  1sc ch 2 1s
